Body-oriented therapy is more than just therapy.

In this therapy form, I’m listening on multiple levels. Beyond the mental, you can start to feel your body. What’s happening inside of you? What’s not being seen? What is it you can’t express yet? 

Often there is an unconscious pattern and that’s why you keep falling into the same trap. 

This therapy will help you to see through your patterns and habits on a deeper level so you can truly break them. Transforming patterns can help you to be more open in connecting to others and the world around you.

How I work

When you’re coming for 1:1 therapy, we start with an intake session. In this session we assess your history, your current situation and what your needs are. Where do you feel stuck? What do you want to change? When this is all clear, we can start with therapy sessions. 

As human beings, we all have a mental body (the mind) and a physical body, but we are also driven by our emotional body. This therapy will focus on all three of them. 

What’s going on in your life right now and needs attention? I work with things that are present in the here-and-now. But often we will find a connection with things that happened in the past. Where did your current patterns originate?

Body-oriented therapy is focused on taking you to the more subtle layers of your emotional awareness. By doing this new insights arise which can solve old problems. 

This therapy it about actually listening to you on a deeper layer of your being. You will explore deeper layers within yourself, where you can find your hidden motives and desires, which will help you to become more aware of who you truly are and what’s most important to you.  

I believe in the wisdom of your body. This is the place where all your memories are stored, but also the place to find shelter and support when you don’t feel safety around you. 

In therapy, I will guide you to get to know your body and emotions better so you can stay present with yourself and learn to give yourself what you need in difficult moments. You will feel more embodiment and integration and you can live from a safe, solid base within yourself. 

In therapy, I make use of different techniques such as: Gestalt therapy, body-oriented experiencing, mindfulness, meditation, inner child work and visualisations. I work with the strength of vulnerability, lightness and humour. 

This therapy will help you to deepen the connection with yourself and make you feel understood. There will be more access to your authentic self and it will become easier to express yourself.

Pricing

To be eligible for reimbursement by health insurance, you need a referral letter from your general practitioner (huisarts). You must hand this over to me before the intake. I work in what has been called the Basis-GGZ (BGGZ), this needs to be mentioned on the referral.

If you don’t want to be in therapy through health insurance, you don’t need a referral and a session costs €105,-

The duration of a session is 45 to 60 min.
